Popular Tamil television channel Raj TV
has been running a music talent show named 'Raagam Sangeetham' for many years.
It is a talent hunt cum music competition for young children. The new version
of the show which will be on air from March 2006 will be compered by vocalist
S. Sowmya. She will be introducing some new features such as quizzes on
music, audio-visual snippets of yesteryear greats and other surprise items to
kindle the interest of young viewers and music students.
Participants on the show will be music students
and young artistes between the ages of 10 and 16. Categories include vocal
Carnatic music and Carnatic instruments.
UPDATE (March 21st): The Raagam
Sangeetham show will begin airing on Raj TV from April 4th, 2006 at 7.00 pm
every Tuesday. |
