March
17, 2002: A programme titled "Carnatic based film songs" organised in
association with Lakshman Sruti. Top musicians and several school children
participated.

April 12, 2002:
Carnatica's Complete Interactive Solutions for International Music, Dance
and Yoga as well as India's Cosmic Energy Therapy Centre launched.
Carnatica's Kids Club also inaugurated simultaneously.

17, 2002: A first-of-its-kind summer camp organised at Ooty for
Carnatica members. Camp included sessions and courses on voice culture, bhajans, devotional music, rare Carnatic masterpieces and yoga among other
subjects.

June
1, 2002: Two more camps organised at Carnatica premises in T Nagar and Adyar.
Sessions included a course on Japanese music, as also
lecture-demonstrations by leading artistes.

23, 2002: World Music Day celebrated in association with the Krishnamurti
Foundation of India.

2002: Carnatica Cultural Child Care Centre launched at Chennai - a day-care centre for children,
where they get exposure to music, bhajans, yoga, dance, Harikatha and other
aspects that are unique to Indian culture right from their most impressionable
age.

July
3, 2002: MLV Day celebrated in association with Narada Gana
Sabha. Unique audio-visual presentation on the
music and life of the late legend M L Vasantakumari presented.

August
6, 2002: Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer's 95th
birthday celebrated on a grand scale in association with Sri Krishna
Sweets. A prayer session which included distribution of prasadam from about
120 temples in Tamilnadu organised.

13, 2002:
Raganubhava on Raga Bhairavi at Mylapore Fine Arts Club. Two new cassettes Jagat Janani
and Shining Pearls of Swati Tirunal released.

15, 2002: A mega musical march undertaken in Chennai to
commemorate India's 55th Independence day, involving all the major music
organisations, musicians, schools and colleges.

26, 2002: Sangeetanubhava 2002-2003 organised in association with Music
Education Trust, Kalamandir and Shrine Velankkani Institutions.

31, 2002: A book titled Ragas at a Glance authored by Prof. S R
Janakiraman released during Sangeetanubhava festival. An all-night music
session organised to usher in the New Year. Participation by many prominent
musicians.
